It was the second time Take Note have played at the The Cleveland Bay, Southampton celebrating their beer festival, and this year was made a little bit more special as we were invited to play after a vote by the general public (you guys are awesome!!!).
We welcomed back Jon from injury along with Cecily on sax for her first gig as our newest full time member. She absolutely nailed it!
The Cleveland Bay crew were in fine voice and had clearly polished their dancing shoes as those moves were on show from the first song, (although we suspect the guest ales on offer may have had a little to do with it!). The new automated lighting rig was out to play, and some newly added songs were debuted, both of which helped keep the party going until last orders and encouraged what can only be described as some dubious shapes being thrown on the dance floor… some of which hadn’t been seen since the 80’s!
It was great to see some familiar faces, as well as meet some new clients who were keen to see the band in action, which resulted in a wedding confirmation, a corporate event being booked and some possible birthday celebrations to boot! Winner!
A special thank you to the Chandler’s Ford team at the pub for having Take Note back for a second year and for their hospitality! To end the night in true Take Note fashion, it was a quick stop off at McDonald’s before heading home. After all, who doesn’t want a burger and Nugget feast at 1am on a Saturday morning! #rocknroll
