Sarah & Dan’s Wedding – Rookesbury Park

It was love at first sight for the TN team when arriving at Sarah & Dan’s wedding venue; we couldn’t get over just how beautiful it was! A long sweeping drive leading up to the marvellous Rookesbury Park in Wickham set the scene for what was clear to be a truly fabulous day.

We needed to be set up and ready before the guests made their way to the Orangery for the wedding breakfast & speeches, and despite setting up our full back drop and lighting rig we did it in record time! #goteamTakeNoteUK

It was clear everyone was ready to dance the night away right from the word go….. so we started our first set as the Hog Roast was served. Despite guests taking the opportunity to dine on some delicious evening food, the dance floor soon filled and was packed out by our third song!

Mat had a small technical issue; he knocked over a drink on stage within the first song so quite literally paddled his way through a few numbers; nice one Mat!!!!!

After a very quick pit stop to refill our glasses and take a speedy “convenience” break, our second set couldn’t come quick enough! Once again the dance floor filled and everyone was in fine voice… well… kinda! Sarah’s theatre chums gave us all a rousing performance of “Our House”, but the highlight had to be the quite simply awesome air guitar through “Sweet Child o Mine” from the coolest of dudes with a tie around his head! What a legend! As for “7 Nation Army”… you guys raised the roof!

It was a fantastic venue filled with amazing guests and super friendly staff who made us all feel really welcome and couldn’t do enough to make our visit one to remember! We even met a real life TV reality star! (If you haven’t seen Candy Man Dan off the telly then please proceed to YouTube immediately after this blog!)

The night was finished off with the band sat in the kitchen, having a well earned cup of tea and hog roast sandwiches. What could better sum up a Rock n’ roll lifestyle eh?

“What can we say… Other than you guys were absolutely EPIC!!!!!! Such an awesome night, we absolutely loved it, and great tunes too…”

“You guys were amazing and if we need a band again, you’re no1 on the list!”

– Sarah & Dan

Thank you Sarah & Dan for inviting us to be a part of your special day; it was both an honour and a privilege. Sarah, you looked breath-takingly stunning and as for the groom…… not at all shabby Dan, not bad at all!!!

From us all here at Team Take Note – welcome to married life!

Cleveland Bay Beer Festival 2018

Take Note returned for the third time to the annual Cleveland Bay Beer Festival. The venue has recently had some really beautiful renovations and made it a pleasure to play in!

The event was very family oriented with some guests even bringing their dogs, it was no problem for Take Note to step up to the mark (or at least step over the dog)! Our set list ensured that all ages were catered for and that everyone appeared on the dance floor – there may have even been some “dad-flossing”!

We were able meet some of our new clients who were keen to see the band in action before finalising their bookings. As well as meeting clients, it was a pleasure to see familiar faces who turned out to support us and enjoy the speciality beers.

As always the Band want to thank the team at the Cleveland Bay for being so welcoming and enabling us to put on a great show. Thanks from Take Note HQ.

50th Birthday Festival!

It’s fair to say that the 2018 Festival Season is well and truly underway, and what better way to celebrate your 50th Birthday than with a festival of your very own? That’s exactly what the lovely Clare did!

Arriving at a field marked with balloons close to Hedge End, Southampton, the Take Note crew were greeted with a sea of glitter and sparkles any seasoned festival goer would be proud of! It’s fair to say that guests really embraced the theme! We quickly set up in the marquee, which was next to the inflatable bar (yes you read that right!) and hog roast tent, in the centre of the party action. The festival was already in full swing with tents being set up all around us and some seriously impressive motor homes pulling onto the site. Mat even set up Home for the evening!

We unloaded the gear and got set for a riotous evening; the crowd certainly didn’t disappoint! Matthew made his dep sax debut, and treated us all to a stonking solo.

Clare left the play list up to us, simply requesting “a little something to keep everyone happy” and so we ensured we played a variety of classics from across the decades. Needless to say, “Sex on Fire” and “Mr Brightside” went down a storm in the buzzing festival tent, with a full crowd singalong as we blasted “Don’t Stop Believin” as our final song of the night.

A special mention must go to the birthday girl; not only for having us but for her simply fabulous rendition of “Valerie” – she was absolutely brilliant; all the more so thanks to her light up wellies purchased especially for the occasion! She was joined by her daughter Maddie and all we can say is watch out X Factor – there’s a new Duo in town!

A massive thanks to Clare from all of us here at Take Note HQ for inviting us along to make your special day one to remember – we had the best time (even if we’re still finding glitter now!) Rock On!

We had the best time ever!!! Surrounded by great friends with fabulous music. You guys absolutely rocked it, we have had sooooo many compliments for you from friends, reckon you’ll be busy with the amount of times we gave your details out. If you ever need an additional singer just let me now!! – Clare
