Billy’s 21st Birthday!

Team Take Note…… out on the road again….. and this time to an actual Island!!! Arriving at the venue to set up when the doors were open, we were greeted by an army of friends and relatives setting up the room ready to celebrate Billy’s 21st birthday. It was quite the transformation in about 90 minutes (Go team Billy!!!).

We galloped through the first set with the usual Take Note energy and fun. Craig kept us on our toes by adding the odd extra chorus in here and there, much to the delight of the band and the army of dance floor revellers… setting us up for a blistering hot and energetic 2nd set.

Kicking off with “Celebration” Billy was summonsed to the dance floor for a rousing version of “Happy Birthday” (he wasn’t embarrassed at all!!), and with the dance floor packed we launched into a funky dance and singalong with Uptown Funk, Moves Like Jagger and Blame it on the Boogie. The crowd had the opportunity to have a sing with us on Mustang Sally which produced some interesting, and in one case epic result. A+ for effort; let’s leave it there. All of Billy’s family and friends redeemed themselves when to be fair when they raised the roof with Mr Brightside, Sex on Fire and Livin’ on a Prayer which ended a brilliant night of fun, laughter and dancing worthy of any You’ve Been Framed show reel.

Happy Birthday Billy. We all hope you had a top night and thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.

We must also say a huge THANK YOU to the lovely Gemma who joined us as a special guest in the brass section, and blew us all away (see what we did there!). You were brilliant!!

We are off on our short summer break now…… but shall return soon…. in a teepee no less (no joke)!!! Thanks to everyone so far this year who has booked us, danced with us, sang with us and to all of you who have put your trust and faith in Take Note to make some amazing memories. We are truly honoured and blessed.

Halloween Ball

There is something spooky going on! With grim, grim ghosts and crypt doors creaking, Take Note performed for the Rainbow Centre Halloween Ball at the Portsmouth Marriott hotel.

The event organisers needed a Thrilling event, with the aim of raising as much money for the charity. We customised our set list to accommodate the various fundraising activities, and ensure it kept with the theme of the evening. The guests looked fantastic in their ball gowns and halloween outfits, and not to be out shone, the band were all dressed up and also accessoried the stage.

To aid the event we were happy to provide use of our PA system for the whole evening, enabling the auctions and games to take place. We received fantastic feedback from the organisers

I have never seen the dance floor so packed at an event like this before.

The best band that we’ve ever had at a Rainbow event!

It was great, there was something for everyone. I really loved the variety of music.

The event raised well in excess of £15,500 for such a well deserving charity.
